Paclitaxel is an active pharmaceutical ingredient(API) that has an antitumor activity. It can be obtained in two ways: isolation from natural sources or production by semi-synthetic process. Natural sources include the bark or needles of pacific yew trees or other members of Taxus species. Paclitaxel has been very effective in slowing or stopping the growth of various cancer cells including melanoma cells, leukemia, various carcinomas, sarcomas, non-Hodgkin lymphomas, as well as a number of solid tumors in animal models. Many research projects show promising results of paclitaxel`s efficacy on other types of cancer cells.
Genexol® can compete with any other paclitaxel in quality, consistency and cost. Plant cell culture technology enables us to manufacture Genexol® with a high purity, constant yield, high productivity, low purification cost, and no negative environmental problems.
